SysDial Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
SysDial is a system monitor for the macOS menu bar, made by Oleksandr Hrabar ("we", "us"). This policy explains what SysDial does with information on your Mac. It applies to both editions: SysDial from sysdial.app (Direct) and SysDial from the Mac App Store.
The short version
- SysDial doesn't collect, sell or share personal data.
- There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Everything SysDial measures stays on your Mac.
- SysDial makes only a few network connections, listed below, and none of them send your data to us.
What SysDial reads on your Mac
To show its readings, SysDial reads information from macOS while it runs:
- processor, GPU, memory, disk, battery, fan and temperature readings;
- network activity: current speed and the amount of data transferred;
- in the Direct edition, the names, CPU use and memory use of running processes and apps.
This information is used only to display it in SysDial and to raise the alerts you turn on. It never leaves your Mac.
What SysDial stores on your Mac
SysDial keeps a small amount of data so it can show history and remember your settings:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| System history (CPU, memory, network, internet quality, alerts) | The History section and charts | 30 days |
| Watched apps: the apps you choose to watch, with their CPU and memory history | The Watched apps feature | 30 days |
| Data transferred per day | The Network transfer card | about 13 months |
| Settings: theme, layout, alert rules, ignored apps | To remember your choices | Until you change or remove them |
| License key (Direct edition) | To unlock SysDial Pro | Until you remove it in Settings |
Where this data is stored:
- Direct edition:
~/Library/Application Support/app.sysdial.mac/and the app's preferences (app.sysdial.mac). - Mac App Store edition: inside the app's sandbox container, managed by macOS.
To delete all of it, quit SysDial and remove these locations (or, for the App Store edition, delete the app). In Settings → About, Show data folder opens the folder for you.
Network connections
SysDial connects to the internet only for the following:
- Public IP address. To show your public IP in the Network card, SysDial requests it from api.ipify.org. Like any website you visit, that service sees your IP address when the request is made. You can turn this off in Settings → General → Show public IP.
- Internet quality checks (SysDial Pro). To measure latency and detect outages, SysDial opens short connections to well-known public servers (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and Google 8.8.8.8) and looks up a random name through your DNS server. No data about you or your Mac is sent in these checks; the operators of those servers see a connection from your IP address, as with any connection.
SysDial doesn't send your readings, history, app names or any other data to us or to anyone else.
Permissions SysDial may ask for
- Notifications: to show the alerts you turn on. Notifications are created on your Mac.
- Controlling Finder (Direct edition): only when you click Empty Trash in Storage, so that Finder can empty the Trash.
- Administrator password (Direct edition): only when you reset the Spotlight index. The password is entered in a macOS dialog; SysDial never sees or stores it.
Purchases
- Mac App Store edition: purchases are processed by Apple. We don't receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Direct edition: purchases are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record. We receive only what's needed to issue and support your license, such as your email address and license details. The payment provider's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. When you use the email link in SysDial, the message is pre-filled with your SysDial version, macOS version and Mac model to help us answer; you can edit or delete these before sending. We use this only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed for that. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Apple's analytics (Mac App Store edition)
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in macOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports. This is controlled by Apple and by your settings, not by SysDial.
Children
SysDial doesn't knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If SysDial starts working differently with data — for example, if we add automatic update checks or online license activation — we'll update this policy and the effective date above before the change is released.
